This Welsh honey encapsulates the sweetness of our Snowdonia Welsh Wildflower Honey but also has the deep, intense flavour characteristic of Welsh Heather Honey with a slight hint of earthiness to boot! Because of the high concentration of natural sugars and the Heather Honey included in this Welsh honey, it will readily set to a smooth finish.

Answers to the most common questions we're asked about this honey variety
What is Heather Blend?

Our Heather blend is a 2:1 mix of our Welsh Wildflower and Welsh Heather Honey giving the floral sweetness of Wildflower Honey and the strength of taste of the Heather Honey - all round delicious!

What's the difference between Heather Honey and Honey?

Unlike other types of honey, heather honey has unique properties and a very specific taste. It is different in colour (dark red) and has different nutritional values than our Welsh Wildflower Honey.

How to use Heather Honey?

With its slightly bitter flavour and thick, syrupy texture, Heather Honey is a delicious addition to a wide range of foods and beverages. It can be enjoyed on its own, added to porridge or yoghurt, or used as a natural sweetener in tea or coffee.

Can honey be consumed daily?

Honey is still a form of sugar and intake should be moderate. Its recommended by various health agencies that women get no more than 100 calories a day from added sugars; men no more than 150 calories a day. This is a little over two tablespoons for women and three tablespoons for men.

What's the difference between expensive honey and cheap honey?

The price per pound of raw honey depends on the higher production costs of honey, while adulteration of some processed honeys with cheaper sugar syrups drives the prices of processed honeys down. That processed “pure honey” on the supermarket shelf may not be purely honey, regardless of what the label says.
