Each small-batch hamper contains a curated trio of distinct varietals, harvested from our mountain apiaries using time-honoured, sustainable beekeeping and locally-reared bee stock.

What does Heather Honey smell like?

Our Ling Heather Honey is reddish/orange to dark amber. It has a slightly bitter, tangy, pungent, smoky, mildly sweet taste that persists for a long time. It has a strong distinctive woody, warm, floral, fresh fruit aroma reminiscent of heather flowers.

What does Heather Honey taste like?

It's also, like many dark honeys, particularly high in antioxidants. The taste is just as distinctive. It's complex, aromatic and not too sweet – and combines smoky, warm, woody and floral notes in a flavour as intense and unrefined as the Welsh moorlands it comes from.

Is Wildflower Honey the same as pure honey?

The prime difference between regular honey and wildflower honey lies in the flower sources from which the bees forage the nectar. When it comes to wildflower honey, it's exclusively collected from abundant wildflowers growing here in Snowdonia, North Wales.

How do you get Soft Set Honey?

We warm our award-winning Welsh Wildflower Honey in our creaming machine to about 45C to reset the crystal structure of the honey for about 1 hour. We allow the honey to cool until its around the 12C-14C mark. 10% of a seed honey which has the texture characteristics we're looking for (we use honey with a high percentage of Clover nectar) is introduced and then the machine stirs it intermittently for the next 10 days to produce a delicious, smooth, buttery honey product. The honey is placed into warm jars and left to " soft set" for a further 4 weeks until its ready for sale to you.

Is Honey bad if it hardens?

Hardened honey is perfectly safe to eat and doesn't mean that your honey has gone bad. In fact, it's just the opposite! It means that your honey is natural and oh so good.

However, the smooth buttery style of our Soft Set Honey has a lovely complex texture that naturally-crystallised honey doesn't have.
